Full Day Trip to Troy & Assos
Our history-rich excursion begins in the immortal and legendary city of Troy, which was famously home to the ravishing beauty, Helen. In Homer’s epic tale The Iliad, the city witnessed the Great War that was supposedly launched after Paris stole the heart of the beautiful princess and lured her away from King Menelaus of Sparta.
Until the mid-19th-Century, the story of Troy was widely regarded as the stuff of legend. It wasn’t until the archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann unearthed its walls and battlements that the city of Troy, and thus the battle, was acknowledged as historical fact.
On this excursion, you will have the opportunity to step foot in the iconic city, declared a National Park in 1988. The archaeological site displays exhibits that are located in the excavation places in which they were found.
Wander around the museum’s open terrace and enjoy spectacular views of the historically important stone walls and battlements that transformed a legendary tale into a revered city that is very real.
